Dear Sir or Madam,

Due to the epdemic threat caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the formula of the 18th Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival has changed. This year's shows will be completely transferred to the internet. This change also caused changes in the regulations by adding new points:

Screening of the 18th Edition Films

1. Due to the threat of COVID-19 disease, the screening shows during the 18th Edition of the Festival, shall be held as an open screening shows with the use electronic communication means. Submission of the Films to participate in the Festival shall be deemed as giving consent by their artists and producers to make the Films available to the public in a way that members of the public may have access to them from a place and at a time chosen by them (online). The consent includes also the Festival period in line with the Schedule. In the event of objections by the film producer regarding the way it is made available (online), the decision to admit the film to the competition is made by the Festival Director in consultation with the film producer. 

2. The Films shall be screened in the real time of the events taking place in line with the Schedule with no possibility of recording, including:
one online competition screening;

second online screening in case of prize winners at the Main Competition and Youth Competition.
3. The Films shall be screened with the use of electronic means of communication facilitating reception solely to the users logging in on the territory of Poland.

liscWe invite you to send movies to the 18th Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival.

Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival, taking place under the slogan "Promotion of Europe's nature and landscape", is not only the largest show of nature films in Poland, but above all a great celebration of environmentalists, filmmakers, naturalists, photographers and painters who are no strangers to the problems of today's world and the nature that surrounds us . The festival takes place every two years in Łódź, starting from 1980, and since 2001 it has been implemented in the international formula.

The main festival prize is the Grand Prix of Włodzimierz Puchalski for the best film participating in the competition. The festival has an international reach: films from all over the world are sent to the Selection Committee, and film producers and film producers as well as film festival organizers from many countries come to Łódź for the duration of the film competition.

Festival  belongs to the organization ECOMOVE International, which brings together nature film festivals from Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Portugal, Japan and Italy. In addition to competition shows, the Festival program is enriched by a variety of original accompanying events.

The 18th Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival will take place in Łódź on September 23-27, 2020.

The motto of the upcoming edition is: "BIODIVERSITY IS AN OPPORTUNITY".

The following may participate in the Festival:

1. short (up to 40 minutes) and medium (40 - 70 minutes) films devoted to the nature of Europe, protection of the natural environment, human coexistence with the natural world, and related issues,
2. popular-scientific and scientific films, documentaries, animated, television nature programs, as well as other film forms with a projection time of up to 60 minutes,
3. films made after January 1, 2017, which did not take part in the 17th Włodzimierz Puchalski Intenational Nature Festival in 2017.

We are waiting for films until July 31, 2020.

Only films with a screening time of 3 to 15 minutes, made by people between 10 and 20 years old, will be admitted to the Youth Nature Film Competition.

We are waiting for films in the youth part until July 31, 2020.

The festival's organizers are: Wytwórnia Filmów Oświatowych Sp. z o.o.,  "Film - Przyroda ? Kultura" Association, Łódzki Dom Kultury and "Łódź Filmowa" Association.
